Product Introduction PODOCHEM-O

Cefpodoxime is an oral third generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is active against most Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. It is commonly used to treat acute otitis media, pharyngitis, and sinusitis. Cefpodoxime proxetil is a prodrug which is absorbed and de-esterified by the intestinal mucosa to Cefpodoxime.
Ofloxacin A synthetic fluoroquinolone (fluoroquinolones) antibacterial agent that inhibits the supercoiling activity of bacterial DNA gyrase, halting DNA replication.

Indication of PODOCHEM-O

• For the treatment of patients with mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms.
• Cefpodoxime prescribed for respiratory tract infections, ear nose and throat infections, reproductive tract infections & urinary tract infections.
• Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone and the combination act via inhibiting the growth of disease causing bacteria. It is prescribed for respiratory tract infection and Typhoid.
• Ofloxacin is prescribed for skin & soft tissue infections, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, abdominal infections & reproductive system infections.

Side Effects

Diarrhoea, Nausea, Vaginal fungal infections, Vulvo vaginal infections, Abdominal pain, Cough, Eye irritation, Vertigo & Sleep disorder are the main side effects.
