Levocetirizine is a very effective and potent medication to treat year-round allergic symptoms associated with rhinitis and utricaria. Seasonal allergies that cause a runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing or skin itching and hives can also be effectively treated with this medicine.

Montelukast, a Leukotriene inhibitor that effectively treat inflammation & oedema associated with allergy and Levocetirizine, an anti-allergic drug. It is prescribed in case of long standing asthma, chest congestion, sneezing, itchy nose, nasal secretion, nasal congestion and red watery eyes along with itchy skin rashes.

Indication of MONTICHEM-LC KID

• Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) used for the maintenance treatment of asthma and to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies. Montelukast is usually administered orally.
• Montelukast blocks the action of leukotriene D4 on the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor CysLT1 in the lungs and bronchial tubes by binding to it.
• This reduces the bronchoconstriction otherwise caused by the leukotriene, and results in less inflammation. Because of its method of operation, it is not useful for the treatment of acute asthma attacks
• Levocetirizine, an anti-allergic that stops histamine from acting within the body to prevent allergic reactions. It is prescribed in all form of allergies in the body whether seasonal or perennial.
• Levocetirizine is used to treat chronic skin complications associated with utricaria
• Levocetirizine is used to treat the symptoms associated with seasonal and long-term rhinitis.

Side Effects

Dry mouth, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, fever & abdominal pain are the observed side effect.
