Semisynthetic, broad-spectrum, ampicillin derived ureidopenicillin antibiotic proposed for pseudomonas infections. It is also used in combination with other antibiotics.
Tazobactam is a antibacterial penicillin derivative which inhibits the action of bacterial beta-lactamases.

Piperacillin, a Penicillin & Tazobactam, a beta-lactam inhibitor. Piperacillin kills bacteria by breaking their membranes and Tazobactam stops the enzymes that make bacteria resistant to the antibiotic, thus together they act synergistically. It is used in cases of serious infections of chest, urinary system & blood along with others.
Side Effects
Common side effects are Diarrhoea, Nausea, Vomiting, Rash, Pruritus & fungal infections on long usage.
